AnyTool Tag & Pixel Inspector privacy notice

Version 1.0 · 10 October 2026 · Extension version 0.1.0

Permissions and why

  • activeTab: Lets the extension work on the tab you open it from, only after you click the toolbar icon.
  • scripting: Runs a read-only scanner in the current tab, in the page's own JavaScript context, so it can read the data layer and tag globals.

The extension requests no host permissions, so it has no standing access to any website.

Page data it accesses

  • Which known tag scripts and globals exist on the page, and the account, container and pixel IDs in their addresses and snippets.
  • The addresses, types and timings of requests the page made, as reported by the browser. Only requests to recognised tag hosts are analysed.
  • The entries of the page's data layer, limited in size. Personal-looking values are hidden in the report by default.
  • Google Consent Mode state when the page exposes it, and the names of consent platforms.
  • Cookie names only. Never cookie values, form fields or page text.

Whether data leaves your device

No. Nothing this extension reads is transmitted to AnyTool Studio or to any third party. It makes no network requests of its own, and its extension pages are restricted by a content security policy that does not allow any.

What is stored on your device

  • The scan is held in the extension's own IndexedDB storage while its report tab is open, and deleted when the tab closes. Anything abandoned is removed after six hours.
  • A JSON or CSV file only exists if you download it, and then it is under your control. Downloads are masked unless you turn masking off.

Version check by this website

Pages of the Extensions by AnyTool Studio website can ask this extension for its version number, so the website can tell you when an update is available. The browser delivers that message only to this extension and only from this website; other websites cannot send it. The extension replies with its name and version and nothing else (no page, tab or user data), and makes no request of its own.

Exports you make

Files you save or text you copy are produced at your request. They leave the extension only to the place you choose, such as your downloads folder or clipboard, and are not tracked.

Website analytics

This extension has no analytics or telemetry. The Extensions by AnyTool Studio website is described separately in the privacy overview.
