AnyTool Screenshot privacy notice
Version 1.0 · 10 October 2026 · Extension version 0.2.0
Permissions and why
activeTab: Lets the extension capture the tab you are looking at, only after you open it from the toolbar. It grants no standing access to any site.scripting: Runs short-lived functions in the current tab to measure the page, scroll it during full-page capture, and draw the region-selection overlay.
The extension requests no host permissions, so it has no standing access to any website.
Page data it accesses
- The pixels of the tab you capture, through the browser's capture API, only after you click one of the capture buttons.
- The page's size and scroll position, so it can scroll and stitch a full-page capture and then restore the page.
- The page's address and title, used only to name the saved file.
Whether data leaves your device
No. Nothing this extension reads is transmitted to AnyTool Studio or to any third party. It makes no network requests of its own, and its extension pages are restricted by a content security policy that does not allow any.
What is stored on your device
- The finished capture is held in the extension's own IndexedDB storage so the preview tab can show it. It is deleted when you close the preview, and anything left behind is removed after one hour.
- No settings, history or identifiers are stored.
Exports you make
Files you save or text you copy are produced at your request. They leave the extension only to the place you choose, such as your downloads folder or clipboard, and are not tracked.
